Wrestlestock

“Mommy and Daddy, they went sailing on a boat! Did you know that?” Adina exclaimed, her little eyes filled with wonder as she sat, perched up on a partition wall, her little legs swinging beneath her. She tore her gaze away from the person she’d been talking to in order to take another look around the makeshift city known as Wrestlestock.

“Can’t say I did.”

The voice of her aunt brought Adina back into the present. “Well they DID! And then they came back and picked me up from my Daddy’s house. He lives in Florida now, did you know that?!”

Lucy chuckled. “Didn’t know that either. How is your daddy, by the way?”

Adina let out a sigh and shook her head. “He’s FINE.. But he’s not a part of the story! Listen!”

Auntie Lucy put her arms up in surrender and shook her head as Adina continued.

“They went on a boat, and then they came all the way to FLORIDA to get me… And then they brought me HERE! In the DESERT! And now I get to meet all the people that Mommy and Daddy get to beat up.”

Lucy nodded her head in response, taking a moment to look around the mass of people, wondering where her sister and brother in law had disappeared to, and when they’d be back. It’s not that Lucy disliked kids – she was just awkward around them. And this interaction was proving to be no different for the UGWC World Champ.

“Wait a minute, you call Ken your Daddy too? Doesn’t that get confusing?”

Adina cocked her head to the side, watching her aunt quizzically. “Maybe you’re confused Aunt Lucy… But one of them is big and has dark hair like me… And the others got NO HAIR and Mommy likes him a lot more!”

“Wow.” Lucy couldn’t really deny the little one’s logic in this instance. “Okay then. I shouldn’t have doubted that you’ve got this under control.”

Nodding her head confidently, Adina grinned. “Duh! Ain’t that what I told you?”

The look that Adina gave her, Lucy almost swore that she was looking at Kyra all over again, and it made her laugh. But her niece didn’t like that at all as she practically buried her little fists into her hips and scowled.

“Why you laughing?!”

Before Lucy could answer her, a few fans stopped and wanted to take a picture with Lucy. Lucy kept her eyes on Adina while she greeted them and smiled for a picture. After a few minutes passed and the fans were gone, Lucy heard Adina clear her throat. And when Lucy looked up, she noticed the scowl on Adina’s face had grown deeper.

“What’s your problem, kiddo?”

“You laughed at me! I hope that mean old clown guy beats you up and takes your belt!”

Lucy’s eyes widened in shock. “Excuse you?”

A pair of chocolate brown eyes narrowed in on Lucy’s. And Lucy would never admit this, but she felt a little threatened, and maybe just a little hurt.

“You heard what I said Aunt Lucy! You’re a stupid head! You should go and let that Tempy guy break your–”

Adina Claire Mohr, I better not have just heard you talking to your aunt like that.”

Both Adina and Lucy are shocked when Kyra stepped in between them, her eyes trained solely on her daughter. But Adina didn’t back down, furrowing her little eyebrows even harder in rebellion against Kyra.

“I said what I said, Mommy.”

Lucy stood by awkwardly, looking between mother and daughter – the standoff to end all standoffs. Kyra gritted her teeth as she glared at her mini-me, eventually shaking her head and grabbing Adina by the arm, and helping her jump off the wall she’d been seated on. Adina tried her damndest to pull her arm out of Kyra’s grip, but the mini-Kyra wasn’t nearly strong enough to get out of that.

Mommmmmmyyyyyyy where are we going?!” Adina questioned, still struggling against her mother’s grip.

Kyra didn’t pay her child any mind, instead she turned to her sister and smiled. “Thank you for keeping an eye on her Luce. I’m sorry that she’s a little asshole sometimes.”

Adina stomped her foot on the ground, but since the majority of it is sand, the effect was really lacking. “MOMMY BROWN WOR–”

Kyra cleared her throat, interrupting her daughter mid sentence – still without paying any attention to the little creature that was clawing at her hand, trying to break free. Lucy shook her head and couldn’t stop the chuckle that escaped her lips.  A chuckle to disguise her own discomfort as she watched this scene unfold in front of her.

“You can’t deny that she’s yours.”

“No, I can’t. But we’ll talk to you soon. Tell Rogan we’re looking forward to seeing him.”

Lucy nodded her head and watched as Kyra practically drug Adina through the crowds, all while Adina was saying anything her little brain could muster in order to get some kind of rise out of her mother.

“I’m NOT looking forward to seeing him! He’s STUPID! And a Doody head just like you! Where’s DADDY!? WHERE IS HE?! MOMMY WHERE IS DADDY?! I WANNA SEE–”

But again, she was interrupted when Kyra stopped in front of the Black Ice Extravaganza… Or whatever it was called. Kyra honestly couldn’t keep any of it straight.

“What are you DOING, Mommy?”

Kyra pulled Adina closer to the entrance. “I don’t know, I was figuring that since you wanted to be a little shit today that I’d drop you off with Konrad for a few hours.. Maybe he can teach you a lesson or two…”

Adina’s eyes widened and she shook her head. Kyra knelt down beside her, getting down on her level.

“Or maybe, just maybe all that anger he’s got will just gobble you up and you’ll have to help Konrad say mean things to people…forever.”

Kyra had become a pro at keeping her poker face with Adina – Maybe it was that they were so similar, she wasn’t sure. But Adina still had much to learn as the furrow immediately lessened in her brow and she stopped struggling against Kyra’s grip, unwilling to call her mother’s bluff.

“Mommy… You wouldn’t leave me here…”

Instead of answering right away, Kyra turned her gaze towards the district before them. “I don’t know..”

Mommy…”

Kyra sighed. “Listen, kiddo. I know you see what Daddy and I do, and you think it’s all fun to be mean to people. But what we do is our job, and you’re not old enough to even entertain the thought, Adina.”

“But I–”

Kyra put her hand up and shook her head. “I’m not done. Lucy is your aunt and you don’t act like that towards your family. You don’t act like that towards anyone, you got me? I messed up and I gave you way too much slack, little girl. I want you to be involved in all of this – we want to share this world with you, but not if you’re going to act like a little psychopath. So the choice is yours, either you straighten up and we can enjoy this week or I’ll take your little ass back to your fathers house.”

Adina gasped.

“So what’s it gonna be?”

Finally Adina sighed and looked down at the ground as she kicked at the sand. “I’m sorry, Mommy. I’ll be a good girl.”

“Damn right you will. And you’re gonna go apologize to Aunt Lucy the next time we see her, aren’t you?”

“Uh huh.”

“Good. Now let’s go. I’d never leave you here, for the record.” Kyra said, taking a final glance at Black Icemagedden before the two of them walked off. “Even I’m not that cruel.”

It’s kinda fitting that my first match after Wrestlestock is you, Sebastian. My guess is that you don’t exactly see things the way I do, but that’s okay. Congrats, by the way on keeping that Chaos title. Talent recognizes talent, you know.. Blah blah blah. That old Chestnut.

But what this match really makes me think of is last year’s Wrestlestock.

You versus Lucy in that crazy fucking match. And that shit was banana’s right? I know I wasn’t exactly expecting to end up handcuffed to you, but I think we made the best of it, huh? I got a couple of good shots in, in an attempt to keep you from doing what you ended up doing anyway.

And I guess you could look at this match here in a couple of days, and you could be thinking that what I had for you back then, and even what I had for you and Travis in that Cooperative title match a while ago wasn’t really anything you couldn’t handle – So why would you worry about little old me now?

I get it.

But I really do hope you’re not that short sighted. Every time we’ve danced, there’s been some other shit going on. Whether it be handcuffs, or a partner that continually holds you back.. The point remains that you ain’t faced me one on one yet, so you really don’t have any idea of what I can bring to the table when it’s just me… And I ain’t held down by no restraints.

And I guess I could say the same about you. Do I really know what kind of fighter you are, Seb?

We both know it’s just not the same if there’s a bunch of bullshit involved.

Finally though, finally I get to make good on that promise I made after last year’s event. Finally I get to show you who in the fuck I am, once and for all. I get to show you why I beat your girl in Carnage for the UV belt.. Which I’m sure you know, is the equivalent of that belt you’re holding in your possession right now.

I can’t deny that I want it. I’d love to show the UGWC the kind of chaos, the special brand of crazy I can bring to this division.. And while I’ve made my Cooperative aspirations crystal clear… I don’t see a damn thing wrong with making sure the lot of you are on notice, that if I want to rip this Chaos division apart..I can, and I will… without hesitation. This is the kind of shit I live for.

Just know, Seb.. Regardless of what happens on Monday – You won’t soon forget what the Jawdropper.. The Ultraviolent Goddess has done to you.

And let me just say it right now, you’re welcome.
